Age of empires 2: Age of kings & The Conquerors Expansion

Age of Empires 2: Age of Kings is a Real-time Strategy game, It is set in the middle ages where warfare was pretty common. It was released in the year 2000 with really good reviews, if you ever played Warcraft 2 this game is pretty similar but much better.
The whole point of this game is to gather resources to upgrade buildings and to recruit units to defend and attack your town. There are 13 civilizations, all of them are playable, however there are only 5 campaigns each with their own storyline. Each civilization has their own strengths and weaknesses for example for the britons their archers have +1 range and +1 attack after each age. There are four ages each civilization has different upgrades aswell as unit strengths and weaknesses.




The Conquerors expansion has many new units, campaigns, technologies, gameplay modes, new maps aswell as many overall improvements to the game. It his highly recommended to purchase or download this expansion pack due to the extra units and civilizations that are available. Usually when playing vs other players you can have a variety of civilizations to choose from.However both of you need to have AOC to play against eachother.












 Multiplayer
AOK and AOC are still playable to this day online, this game use to be played alot on gamespy, however the gamespy servers shut down and now another website hosts this game.
Voobly is free to join and play, if you do not have a copy of this game it can be purchased of Ebay or Amazon.
When olaying online, people prefer to play AOC due to the variation of civilizations and overall better performance, however if you do not download or buy AOC then AOK will do just fine.
There are many types of games you can play, you can play Randomly generated maps or you can play Custom Scenarios which are really fun to play.
